Welcome to the 58th Congress of the Romanian Society of Cardiology. This year, within the congress, we continue to celebrate the important personalities who have significantly contributed to the progress of cardiology in Romania. Professor Constantin C. Iliescu (1892 – 1978), a permanent member of the Romanian Academy since 1965, is considered to be the founder of Romania’s clinical cardiology. In his over 200 books and scientific works published, he laid the foundation for the transfer of knowledge from theory into the current clinical practice in the field of cardiology.
The congress shall take place over 4 days this year as well. The first day is dedicated to the courses, there being a record number of 8 courses with varied themes: anti-hyperglycemia medication, dyslipidemia, genetic cardiovascular diseases, electrocardiography for nurses and cardiologists, echocardiography, cardiac failure and cardiorespiratory resuscitation.
